The Children’s Workshop of Smithfield receives NAEYC Accreditation!

The Children's Workshop program in Smithfield, RI achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

 

NAEYC's mission is to serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights and well-being of all young children with primary focus on the provision of educational and developmental services and resources. To learn more about what a NAEYC accreditation means, click here.

 

The Smithfield center met 100% of the program standard criteria in the following categories: relationships, assessment and families. They scored over 95% in teaching. NAEYC commends Smithfield for promoting positive relationships among all children and adults to encourage each child’s sense of worth and belonging as part of a community. Our teachers conduct formal and informal assessments of each student’s learning and development. These assessments occur within the context of reciprocal communications with families. Smithfield is also commended for recognizing that a reciprocal relationship between families and programs is essential to ensure the programs are meeting the needs of the children and families that they serve.
