The Children’s Workshop Celebrates its 21st Birthday!

The Children’s Workshop celebrated its 21st birthday on June 10th, 2011, marking 21 years of caring and educating young children in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

“We continue to be dedicated to meeting the needs of working families to ensure a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn. We’ve been very busy in our 21st year – developing a new curriculum, investing in our centers, and in our staff.  We updated our look and launched a new website too.  We are very proud of what we’ve accomplished since last June!” said David MacDonald, President.

The company was founded in 1990 by MacDonald, who as a small business owner, saw that many of his employees were unable to return to work because they could not find quality, affordable child care.  In order to provide a much needed benefit to his staff, MacDonald made space within his office building to create a superior, early learning facility.  From these humble beginnings The Children’s Workshop was born.

The first center, located in Lincoln, opened its doors with only 18 children, but grew to 80 within a matter of months.  It became clear additional high-quality programs were being sought by families throughout the region.  The Children’s Workshop acquired and developed additional programs and now operates 16 centers throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts, meeting the educational, emotional and developmental needs of some 1,500 children daily.

Today, The Children’s Workshop prides itself on providing its families with one of the best levels of service in the child care industry.
