Our state-of-the-art Westerly facility welcomes infants, toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergartners. We are open from 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, to fit the needs of our busy families. The center is conveniently located on Route 1, not far from the beautiful Westerly beaches. Our building includes bright, developmentally appropriate, fun classrooms and large outdoor playgrounds. As you will see our Westerly center is warm, inviting and designed with young children in mind.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from Creative Curriculum and the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they’re having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.
For more information about our Parent Communication, please visit our Family Communication page or contact the Director of the school you are interested in learning more about!
We are VERY proud to be a NAEYC accredited facility and a BrightStars rated program! For more information about NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the high quality standards they demand of their accredited programs, please Visit the NAEYC website

Preschool & Pre-K
Hello, my name is Chrissy and I am the Director of our Westerly location.
I began my career at The Children’s Workshop in April 2002 as the assistant director at our Pawtucket center. Shortly thereafter, I was promoted to Director of that center. I was lucky enough to be part of a wonderful team that opened TCW Westerly in 2006.
While in college fifteen years ago, I was working as a toddler lead teacher. I instantly knew that I was born to work with young children, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I enjoy working with children of all ages, watching them grow and learn. You will see my happy son Jack playing and learning in the infant classroom. He is a true testament on the importance of Early Childhood education.
I am very excited to be part of a great team of dedicated teachers that are here for you and your child. I look forward to teaching your children and making new relationships with you all. As the director of this beautiful center, my door is always open! Please let me know what I can do for you.
Beth joined TCW in October of 2017. She brings with her more than 25 years of experience in the field of early childhood and youth development. She began her career with Child Care of Southwest Florida (CCSWFL) in 1989 as the Director of the Suncoast After School Program. She left CCSWFL in June 1999 to work for the National School Age Care Alliance (now known as the National Afterschool Alliance) in Boston and then worked for a National based for profit, Knowledge Learning Corporation, managing after school programs. She returned to CCSWFL and the Fort Myers area in March 2006 to manage all their early education and school-age programs. In April 2008, she became the Executive Director at CCSWFL.
Beth has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Physical Education from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master’s degree in Management with a concentration in Diversity from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA. Beth enjoys hiking, mountain biking, tennis, gardening, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
My 2 daughter’s have collectively attended the Children’s Workshop, Westerly location for 5 years. TCW is so much more than a daycare. The teachers are fantastic, highly qualified and nurturing (to children and parents). If work schedules are conflicting week to week Chrissy Stanlewicz, the head teacher, is more than willing to accommodate you when necessary. The weekly themes, or curriculum, are constantly engaging and teaching the children through creative play. I am congratulated on how intelligent and full of personality my girls are. I whole heartedly believe that this is all thanks to TCW Westerly and their amazing teachers. To me, TCW Westerly, is an extension of my family. I could not recommend them enough.
The team of teachers at the Children’s Workshop have been an extension of our family since our daughter was 14 weeks old. They have provided incredible child care and appropriate curriculum for every development in our daughter. She thrives at TCW! With their support and encouragement, we have an exceptionally smart 2 year old who teaches US something every day. They have allowed 2 working parents to feel comfortable every day knowing that our daughter is loved just as much as she is at home. Our soon to be newborn is already enrolled!
