Our location in Westborough, MA, opened on August 1, 2012. This school is centrally located just off Route 9 east, minutes from 495, Route 30 and Route 20 in the heart of the metro west – Westborough. We are open year round and Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:30pm. We care for and educate Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and Pre-K students.
At the Children’s Workshop, we understand the day-to-day child care demands placed on today’s busy families. We provide a truly quality early childhood education environment where children can feel safe, happy, confident, and proud of what they accomplish. We also offer flexible scheduling, hot lunches, enrichment programs, back-up care, affordable rates, and convenient hours.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from the Creative Curriculum and several states’ Early Learning Standards, which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they’re having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful. Each classroom and our playground have been specifically designed to provide age-appropriate challenges and opportunities. The environment is constructed to stimulate the child’s imagination and to encourage active exploration and discovery.
Our experienced team of early childhood educators is committed to the unique development of each child. Each teacher has been carefully selected through an extensive interview and orientation process. All of our teachers receive ongoing classroom support, supervision and continuing education. Everyone on the staff is certified in early childhood health and safety, first aid, and CPR.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.

Hi, my name is Meredith Burkett and I am thrilled to be the School Director at our Westborough location!
I have been with The Children’s Workshop since 2014 and love our philosophy of learning through play. My passion for early childhood began at a young age and has only grown deeper with time and training.
I am a firm believer that children learn best when surrounded by an atmosphere where fun and learning go hand in hand. I would love the opportunity to introduce you to our wonderful staff, show you around our classrooms, and speak with you about our emergent curriculum. Please give me a call to schedule a tour today!
Nicole joined the Home Office team in 2014 as Regional Director of Operations for nine of our schools In this role she oversees the operational and financial success of our schools and works to support and train our fabulous center Directors. Prior to this position she was Director at our Westborough, Smithfield, Rumford, and Warwick schools. During her time at TCW, she has had the pleasure of presenting at both the local and national levels, including a NAEYC national conference in Atlanta, GA, as well as being part of the Modern Parent, a segment on the Rhode Show.
Nicole started working for The Children’s Workshop in August 2008 in our Warwick location where she served as Director. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. In addition, she has received her Early Childhood Teaching Certificate and just recently (2015) completed her Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Before joining TCW Nicole was a substitute teacher in the RI Public School system. Her passion is educating both children and adults – she loves to show kids and adults alike just how much they are capable of accomplishing. Her favorite thing about working with children is that it’s a guarantee that every day is different. When she’s not at work, she has a 2 year old Lab mix named Lexi who she just adores! She also loves the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid sports fan – the New England Patriots is her favorite team and football is her favorite sport to watch!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this TCW location; not only is the daycare itself just all around adorable but the staff is what truly makes this location such an amazing place and they are key to our positive experience here! The teachers have far exceeded our expectations from not only welcoming our daughter right away but even my husband & I too! From her very first day, we felt like we were part of a larger TCW family and it made us feel so comfortable that (even though we didn’t want her to leave our side!) our daughter would be here while we were at work full-time, with such caring and well-trained teachers!
Our daughter started here when she was only 3 months old and again, as brand new parents petrified to leave their first child, we were instantly given the comfort and confidence that we were hoping to find in child care by the TCW staff. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the caring and compassionate teachers in addition to the unbelievably dedicated and passionate Director Trudi and Assistant Director, Meredith.
We couldn’t be happier with TCW & are reassured every day that we made the right child care decision!
We are new to TCW Westborough, but we are really pleased with the center staff and teachers thus far. Our boys were coming from another daycare in our former town and Trudi, Meredith, and the teachers made it a very easy transition for them. My boys are excited to tell me about all of the different activities they participated in each day; I think it is a testament to their level of engagement via the TCW’s “learning through play” approach. I have also been pleasantly surprised by the kinds of enrichment activities they provide – yoga, music, art and gross motor play. All of these programs were an “extra fee” at our former center. Finally, parents are really involved with high attendance at the monthly Parent/Teacher meetings. Overall, I have been very pleased with the staff, the facility, and the value of the program and would highly recommend.
We came to TCW after being at bright horizons. Bright horizons is great for some, but it was too ‘sterile’ and ‘institutionalized’ for us. The experience at TCW is personalized, warm, and caring. TCW is unique in that the teachers/administrators really try to understand where families are coming from and meet them halfway. My older son recently had a difficult behavioral stage where for a month or so he had some random but intense separation anxiety and the teachers could not have been more helpful. We had some special schedule issues with my work schedule and they worked with us to tailor our experience, which NO other daycare would have done. The kids love their teachers dearly and though there is always high turnover as there is in this field, I feel like TCW tries really hard to keep their staff on board and around. They have social events for parents outside of school. This is a work daycare so they will not close randomly or for school vacations/summer!! We were/are at TCW for 3 years and absolutely love them. Could not recommend more highly.

I moved to MA in August 2017 and I was looking for a great place for my 2 year-old daughter that was nurturing, with dedicated and loving teachers and most of all based on learning through play and exploration. This place is fantastic, I have interviewed so many before deciding that this was the best for my daughter. She has been in this school for 7 months now and transitioned to preschool and everything has been incredibly amazing for her and for me as a parent to see such dedication to the children. I will recommend this place to everyone. Trudi the director is incredible and so organized with everything. Communication is awesome with this application that tracks your child activities through the day and they send you also tons of pictures! I highly recommended, it is worth a visit!!! 5 stars and more for me!!!

We have been part of the Children’s Workshop family for almost 4 years now! Our first daughter attended the Children’s Workshop in Waltham and then moved to the Children’s Workshop in Westborough when we relocated. Our second daughter joined her a few years ago at the Children’s Workshop in Westborough. I couldn’t be happier with the place we have chosen for our childcare needs. The staff is so happy and friendly, but most of all caring and loving towards our children. The management has been great, and very flexible with our constantly-changing needs. There is always open communication, and lots of feedback about our children’s activities, both face-to-face and via electronic communication. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for childcare!
