Early Education Program in North Kingstown, RI
At The Children’s Workshop, we nurture, inspire, and teach infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergartners. Our warm and inviting North Kingstown center fosters the perfect environment for education and learning. We even offer fantastic summer programs. We are a BrightStars rated program!
Benefits and Conveniences
The school is conveniently located just minutes off Route 4, near the Home Depot, Stop & Shop, and the Wickford Junction commuter train station. We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to fit the needs of busy families. Our building includes bright, developmentally appropriate, fun classrooms, and a great outdoor playground.
Our Effective Curriculum
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a nationally accredited framework that draws inspiration from Creative Curriculum and the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards. Because children retain more information when they’re having fun, our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success both now and in the future.
Not only does The Children’s Workshop provide a nationally recognized curriculum, but we also offer a warm, nurturing environment, and an opportunity for every child to receive a quality education.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.
For more information about our Parent Communication, please visit our Family Communication page or contact the Director of the school you are interested in learning more about!

Hello, my name is Ms. Leigh and I am the Director at our North Kingstown school! I currently hold my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an Art concentration, as well as my Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received my educator degrees in New York and received reciprocity from Rhode Island in 2014.
I grew up in Long Island, NY and moved to RI with my husband five years ago. I have two children, Ben and Faye, who also attend TCW North Kingstown. In my spare time I like to travel, go to the beach, garden, do DIY projects around the house, and spend time with my family.
I am passionate about working with young children. There is no greater joy than to watch the growth and development of a child and to help support and assist them in accomplishing their goals. As an educator, my goal is to pave the foundation for my students to become successful, confident, and enthusiastic lifelong learners! Stop by TCW North Kingstown and I can give you a tour of our wonderful facility!
Tracy has been in the field of early childhood education for 22 years. She started with The Children’s Workshop in September 1999 as an assistant director for one of the Massachusetts sites and has since served as director, regional, and currently as a VP regional overseeing seven facilities throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Early Childhood education from the University of RI. Besides overseeing sites she has also managed successful fundraisers including golf tournaments, developed and given countless training sessions, and served on boards and committees. Tracy is currently one of the faces of The Children’s Workshop appearing on segments of “The Modern Parent” on Fox Providence’s morning television show, The Rhode Show. In her role, Tracy enjoys most supporting and helping the staff, families, and children she works with every day. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and children.
Great preschool. Mrs. Kelly is wonderful she spends countless hours planning lessons and activities for her students to work on. She believes in learning while having fun at the same time. So nothing is ever a drill and they are never forced to work on something they don’t want to do. They are very structured and the kids are all very well behaved. My son has been attending for 7 months now and he is always excited about attending and always asks to go to school even if it’s not a day he’s supposed to be there. They do a great job there and have low teacher to student ratios which makes it all worth it in the end. Keep up the good work !
