The Children’s Workshop is proud to announce the arrival of our latest school! We have acquired Briarwood Child Academy, a school in Hanover, MA. We offer high-quality childcare and early education for Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten and are now enrolling for each age group!
Our programs offer affordable rates, convenient hours and a great location with easy access to Route 3. In addition, we utilize a nationally recognized curriculum and an approach to education that you will see in action in all our centers. Our developmentally appropriate classrooms are warm and inviting. Within each classroom you will find distinct learning centers such as blocks, sand and water, dramatic play, library, and computers. These well-defined areas present clear activity choices to children and give them control over their time during center time. Learning materials are offered on low shelves and in labeled containers so they are easily accessible to children and they can gain a sense of independence.
Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful. Children retain more when they are having fun, so our programs emphasize learning through play.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.
For more information about our Parent Communication, please visit our Family Communication page or contact the Director of the school you are interested in learning more about!
We invite you to visit our school! Please stop by or call to schedule an appointment at 781-826-3014. We would love to meet you and your family.
Back Up Care
Preschool & Pre-K
I have been employed with The Children’s Workshop since May of 2001. I started off as a part time teacher assistant while going to school for Early Childhood Education. From then I went on to become the teacher of a preschool classroom. A few years later I stepped out of the classroom to take on more of a leadership role as the assistant director and later the director of our school in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. In December of 2018 I moved my family to Massachusetts and became the Director of one of our newest schools in Hanover.
I am a mother to a beautiful little girl, Arabelle, who amazes me each and every day. We enjoy traveling in our free time. We are huge Disney fans and try to make it there as often as possible!
I am so lucky to be able to work with such a dedicated group of teachers. Please feel free to give me a call because I would love to show you the programs we offer.
Nicole joined the Home Office team in 2014 as Regional Director of Operations for nine of our schools In this role she oversees the operational and financial success of our schools and works to support and train our fabulous center Directors. Prior to this position she was Director at our Westborough, Smithfield, Rumford, and Warwick schools. During her time at TCW, she has had the pleasure of presenting at both the local and national levels, including a NAEYC national conference in Atlanta, GA, as well as being part of the Modern Parent, a segment on the Rhode Show.
Nicole started working for The Children’s Workshop in August 2008 in our Warwick location where she served as Director. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. In addition, she has received her Early Childhood Teaching Certificate and just recently (2015) completed her Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Before joining TCW Nicole was a substitute teacher in the RI Public School system. Her passion is educating both children and adults – she loves to show kids and adults alike just how much they are capable of accomplishing. Her favorite thing about working with children is that it’s a guarantee that every day is different. When she’s not at work, she has a 2 year old Lab mix named Lexi who she just adores! She also loves the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid sports fan – the New England Patriots is her favorite team and football is her favorite sport to watch!
I’m very impressed with The Children’s workshop! They took the center over from the previous owner and immediately starting making positive improvements for the children and families. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the teachers are attentive, kind and energetic! I absolutely love the meal program, not only is it a time saver but it’s also helped my daughter become a better eater and she’s much more open to trying new things. The teachers send photo updates when something memorable happens, it’s so comforting and heart warming to get those while your away from your child. At the end of each day, they send a detailed report of what the child did that day, it is very helpful! I am very pleased with TCW and my daughter is excited to go “school” every day to see her teachers and friends. Highly recommended!
I can not say enough amazing things about this place! The teachers are all amazing, Andrea has done a wonderful job running things, the place is beautifully redone and so clean. I feel like they look at the kids like their own. I’m so grateful to have this place in my life.
TCW is new to Hanover and our family has been enrolled since the first day. They are still new and getting the school up and running. But are already making some great improvements. They do a great job keeping families informed and leveraging really convenient tools do it. I love getting a text when my son spends a day that lets me know what he did so I can ask him questions and keep up with his progress. The staff is so friendly and cares about each child as an individual. The meal program has been a huge help to our busy family. We don’t have to prepare meals
and he’ll be fed something healthy is a huge time saver. Really love what they’ve done in the short time they’ve been running this location and am excited to see what’s next.
