The East Greenwich school is conveniently located on the North Kingstown/East Greenwich line. Our teachers are dedicated to providing the highest quality child care and learning for the young children in our infant, toddler, preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. We offer both a “surround care” program for kindergartners who attend the East Greenwich elementary schools and an exciting summer camp program.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from Creative Curriculum and the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they’re having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.
For more information about our Parent Communication, please visit our Family Communication page or contact the Director of the school you are interested in learning more about!
We are VERY proud to be a NAEYC accredited facility and a BrightStars rated program! For more information about NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the high quality standards they demand of their accredited programs, please Visit the NAEYC website
The center is open from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm and tuition includes breakfast, hot lunch, and daily snacks. Please come by, visit, and see our fantastic school!

I have been employed with The Children’s Workshop since June of 2011. I started off as a Teacher Assistant float and soon after that moved into an administrative role. In October 2017 I become the School Age coordinator with administrative duties. I enjoyed working in the office and learning more of the day to day operations of our company, as well as still being in the classroom. In December 2018 I took over as Director in East Greenwich and have enjoyed working with such dedicated teachers, who truly love providing such a nurturing environment for their children.
I enjoy spending quality family time with my husband and very adorable son, Grayson. Please feel free to give me a call, so I can tell you about the wonderful programs we offer.
Tracy has been in the field of early childhood education for 22 years. She started with The Children’s Workshop in September 1999 as an assistant director for one of the Massachusetts sites and has since served as director, regional, and currently as a VP regional overseeing seven facilities throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Early Childhood education from the University of RI. Besides overseeing sites she has also managed successful fundraisers including golf tournaments, developed and given countless training sessions, and served on boards and committees. Tracy is currently one of the faces of The Children’s Workshop appearing on segments of “The Modern Parent” on Fox Providence’s morning television show, The Rhode Show. In her role, Tracy enjoys most supporting and helping the staff, families, and children she works with every day. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and children.
This is a wonderful school with caring, attentive teachers and students who love them! My daughter has attended for the past three years (starting at 2 years old) and we have had a wonderful experience with all of the staff there. They have a rigorous, appropriate curriculum, are in constant contact with parents, make a point to know all family members who may need to pick up or drop off students and have become a part of our lives in a truly positive way. My daughter’s teachers have even come to her birthday parties, much to her delight!

We were at several daycare providers prior to TCW, all were good, but TCW was by far the best. Our son went there for daycare until pre-k. The staff were extremely friendly and caring. Our son was well prepared for pre-k and kindergarten, both academically and socially. We loved it so much, we are now back there for after-school care. I’d give them more stars, if possible.
We recently moved to East Greenwich and were looking for a part time daycare program for our son. We couldn’t be happier with the staff and program of the children’s workshop. Our son looks forward to the days he goes to daycare and calls everyone there his “friends”. The program they run really caters to his creative mind. He always comes home with the cutest art projects. The daily updates they send are very thorough and a reflection of the attention and care they give to each individual child. We can’t sing enough praise for the children’s workshop.. they have been a cornerstone in our sons early development.
TCW has been wonderful for our family. The staff are all very kind, smart, and incredibly attentive to our children. We get meaningful updates all the time, and they really get to know and care for our children. The curriculum is impressive too; my kids learn so much and I’m so pleased my daughter is going to kindergarten already reading. They’ve gone above and beyond in so many ways I’d have trouble listing all of them here, but one of my favorite examples is from having my infant son home with me on maternity leave: each day when I dropped off my older children someone from the school would come out to the car and meet them and walk them into the school and back out at the end of the day so I didn’t have to get the baby out of the car and walk him through the daycare. Such a huge help, and they did it for weeks. I feel so fortunate to have such a great partner in raising my kids.
The Children’s Workshop in East Greenwich is an exceptional place made up of some really exceptional people. I have two boys who attend full time and have done so since they were a few months old. The teachers there are so loving and do such a wonderful job that many of them have become a part of our family. Several of them have worked there for the entire handful of years (or more) that my kids have been there which makes it so much easier for me to trust them with my babies. They know my kids so well and really go out of their way to care for them intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. I am also impressed with the quality of the education my kids have received ever since they started. Even infants have a curriculum of age-appropriate, stimulating activities that help them along their developmental path. That has continued right up into preparation for kindergarten, where my kids come home talking about the solar system, or an animal they learned about and/or visited with, or being able to zip their own coat. I could type for hours and still not say all of the great things there are to say about TCW EG!
When it comes to choose a daycare, the safety issues and caring environment were the top priorities for me. I started sending my child 9 years ago(she started when she was 3 months old) and the place never let me down. It is just a home away from home with such a loving and safe environment. Under the superior leadership and management of the director (kelly) for the EG center, the place has been amazing. My child needed the special care because she had VERY poor eating issues and developmental delays. As mom, I had to be super picky to make sure I found the right place for my child to eat, and be safe. The center did it all with super caring approaches, yet with the high learning atmosphere all the time. Very well structured and organized, but at the same time, kids were having fun and freedom to choose of their play during the play time. My chid is now 9 and we use the place for after school care. She eats her snacks and homework is done before I pick her up. Without this place and loving teachers, and exp. Kelly’s (director for the center) willingness to accommodate my needs for her as working mom, my life would have been so much harder. They try EVERYTHING they can to help out the child to have the best experience and environment.
We absolutely love the workshop!!! We recently moved to RI and were looking for a daycare for our daughter (15-months-old at that time). She had never been to daycare before so we were nervous and looked at many in the area. The Children’s Workshop was the best around by far. The thing that stood out the most (and still does) is the friendliness of the staff and caring nature of everyone that works there. We feel our daughter is being looked after very well! They are also great about updating us with photos throughout the day and are always available via phone to check in. We are very happy with the workshop and would definitely recommend it to others!
We recently enrolled our daughter in the Children’s Workshop in East Greenwich a few months ago. Up until now, she has never been in the care of anyone other than family, so the decision to place her did not come without much forethought and anxiety. Upon visiting several area locations we noticed that some of the larger places had an overwhelming amount of children and an impersonal feel. When we visited TCW, we were greeted with open arms from all of the staff and this has not changed to this day. There is a homelike feel which is something that was important to us. The staff make a an effort to really get to know their families and children and their individual preferences and needs. Her teachers make sure we are well informed of anything pertinent. Miss Mia is amazing and my daughter is so happy to go to school. We feel comfortable knowing that she is learning age appropriate material and socializing with her peers and most importantly that she is in a safe environment while we are working. We are comfortable that TCW East Greenwich is providing a solid foundation for her to gain the confidence, self esteem and skills so important to any young person.
Our son just started attending The Children’s Workshop in November and boy what a change from his previous daycare! He is all smiles when I drop him off and pick him up. He never cries anymore and the staff is very loving and compassionate with him. I know he is getting the best care possible. Kelly and her team make you feel like one of the family and not just another number. I highly recommend The Children’s workshop in East Greenwich when choosing the best place for the most important thing in your world; your kids!
