At the Children’s Workshop, we understand the day-to-day child care demands placed on today’s busy families. We provide a truly quality early childhood education environment where children can feel safe, happy, confident, and proud of what they accomplish. We also offer flexible scheduling, back-up care, affordable rates, and convenient hours.
We are conveniently located just off Reservoir Avenue, near Garden City, minutes from both Route 295 and Route 95. We care and educate preschool, pre-K, and school aged children at this location.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from the Creative Curriculum and several states’ Early Learning Standards, which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they’re having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful. Each classroom and our playground have been specifically designed to provide age-appropriate challenges and opportunities. The environment is constructed to stimulate the child’s imagination and to encourage active exploration and discovery.
Parent Communication App
We have an extraordinary Parent Communication App that our teachers use daily to relay information and send pictures to family members, send newsletters, and track developmental progress for each child’s portfolio! With this application, parents/guardians are able to opt into email or text alerts and they can receive any information, instantaneously, about their child and their child’s school day.
Teachers and staff can tag daily pictures with our Developmental Domains (Social/Emotional, Physical, Artistic, Cognitive, and Language/Literacy) and are then able to communicate with the parents/guardians by adding captions or sending quick little notes.
Families LOVE this feature and we’re utilizing it more and more each day! We are so excited to be able to communicate with our families throughout the day and to show them what their children are learning each day.
For more information about our Parent Communication, please visit our Family Communication page or contact the Director of the school you are interested in learning more about!
We are VERY proud to be a BrightStars rated program! For more information about BrightStars and the high quality standards they demand of their rated programs, please Visit the BrightStars website!

My name is Liz Guido and I am the Director at our Cranston location! I have been with The Children’s Workshop since June, 2014. I began working in the Cranston location teaching Kindergarten and I have worked in all classrooms, infants through school age. Prior to returning to TCW Cranston, I was the Assistant Director of our Norwood location!
I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am DIrector II certified in Massachusetts and I also have my state teaching license in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Master’s degree in Special Education from Rhode Island College.
My favorite part of working with children is seeing the dedication of the teachers and their magnitude of warmth and knowledge. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, the great outdoors, and spending time with my husband, Vinny and our two dogs. We recently added a brand new member of the family; our son, Dominic, who will attend TCW Smithfield!
I’d love to meet you and your family, so come by TCW Cranston and tour our facility and meet our wonderful teachers!
Tracy has been in the field of early childhood education for 22 years. She started with The Children’s Workshop in September 1999 as an assistant director for one of the Massachusetts sites and has since served as director, regional, and currently as a VP regional overseeing seven facilities throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Early Childhood education from the University of RI. Besides overseeing sites she has also managed successful fundraisers including golf tournaments, developed and given countless training sessions, and served on boards and committees. Tracy is currently one of the faces of The Children’s Workshop appearing on segments of “The Modern Parent” on Fox Providence’s morning television show, The Rhode Show. In her role, Tracy enjoys most supporting and helping the staff, families, and children she works with every day. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and children.
Excellent school, my 3 yrs daughter loved going to school everyday. The Teachers and the School Director (Marcie) are amazing. The first time we met Marcie, she explained the details in a very patient manner and the first impression was the best. My kids teahcer Mr.Paris is wonderful, he gives utmost care to the needs to the students and explains what they did on that day very patiently and very well.
I would highly recommend The Children’s Workshop to anyone in the area. My children have attended the school for many years. Not only are the Director and staff great, the parents and children are also a pleasure.
In addition, their curriculum from pre-school age up to school-age is phenomenal. It’s always is a plus when parent-teacher communication is open and they appreciate and welcome any feedback from the parents.
During the school year they hold parent nights where the children can hang out and the parents can do their own thing for a few hours, and also invite parents in for celebrations as well! During the summers the program packs it with so many activities from visiting local pools and beaches to going to museums and parks!
The Children’s Workshop really keeps my mind and heart at ease while I am at work and they’re almost always open!
TCW is amazing!!! Their staff is great with my daughter. They even send pictures and videos of my child doing activities and projects every day. This gives me tranquility and also I get to actually document these moments that are usually missed since we as parents don’t get to see during their school hours. They have a nutritious menu for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I feel happy and confident she is in a safe and loving environment.
