Serving the Needs of Families & Communities Across RI & MA

Children’s Workshop Foundation

The Children’s Workshop Foundation was established in 2011 to serve the needs of families and communities across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We are an IRS recognized 501(c)3 public charity; all of our proceeds go toward bettering the lives of children, improving communities, and furthering education.

Mission & Vision

The Children’s Workshop Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children and under served families in the communities served by The Children’s Workshop, Inc by helping them access needed resources and quality education. We will accomplish this by supporting other organizations whose goals align with ours and through mentoring and community outreach. We were founded by employees of The Children’s Workshop, Inc who wanted to find a way to give MORE back to their communities.

The Children’s Workshop Foundation envisions communities where all families are strong, independent, healthy, and empowered.

By participating in Head Start and Early Head Start you will become even more involved in your child’s education both in and out of the classroom.  This includes:

  • Discussing your child’s education at conferences and home visits with your child’s teacher.
  • You have opportunities to set goals for your child’s learning.
  • Home activities will be provided to assist you with your child’s learning.
  • Opportunities to meet with family support staff about your family’s interests and needs.
  • Opportunities to meet with a nutritionist to discuss your child’s overall health.
  • Kindergarten readiness
Research shows that children whose parents are involved in their education do better in school.  Getting involved now will prepare you for when your child enters elementary school.

We strive to bring our employees, community members, and friends of The Children’s Workshop together to offer:

Comedy for Our Communities

Children’s Workshop Foundation Annual Fundraiser Event

Comedy for Our Communities, Children’s Workshop Foundation’s annual event, saw comedian Christine Hurley’s comedy, the generosity of all in the crowd, and the overwhelming support of our friends, partners, and surrounding communities.

Held at the Comedy Connection in East Providence, RI, the event kicked off at 7pm on Thursday, May 31st with guests perusing numerous raffle items and silent auction items donated by community members and sponsors. After a welcome address by Executive Director and Board Member, Maggie Teller and Board President, Sean Cottrell, a video made possible by our friends at our Beverage Hill school, and an introduction by Chris Whitten, the event was underway!
